The Wilson sisters, Wendy and Carnie, as two thirds of the breakthrough pop singing group Wilson Phillips, are in a select group of immensely talented and popular singers, songwriters and performers. Along with childhood friend and band mate Chynna Phillips, they made music history. Wilson Phillips’ first two releases, “Wilson Phillips” & “Shadows and Light”, have collectively sold over 14 million copies worldwide. In Wilson Phillips, they've had three number 1 singles ("Hold On, "Release Me" and "You're In Love"), three top 10 singles on the Billboard charts and generated four Grammy nominations in 1990-1991. Top five ("Impulsive") and top ten ("The Dream Is Still Alive") hits charted worldwide and the group has been awarded many gold and platinum albums for their record sales and numerous awards for their singles and performances.
In 1993, Wendy and Carnie Wilson released the Christmas holiday themed CD, “Hey, Santa!”, a collection of classic and original holiday themes. The title track has become a holiday radio favorite since its release. In 1997, Carnie and Wendy along with their father, Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) released "The Wilsons" and the single "Monday Without You" to rave reviews. In 1998, Carnie and Wendy joined Al Jardine (The Beach Boys) in the Beach Boys' Family and Friends for three years of live performances and a live album in 2001, "Al Jardine's Family and Friends Live in Las Vegas".
Currently, aside from Wilson Phillips, the Wilson's are enjoying success touring the U.S. and beyond, performing a live show full of hits to audiences of all ages. Songs for their show are chosen from Wilson Phillips' and The Wilson's extensive original music catalog as well as carefully chosen popular classics showcasing their unique vocal blend. Their live set includes number one hits "Release Me" and "You're In Love" as well as versions of the classic songs "Already Gone " (The Eagles) and "California" (Joni Mitchell). From the Wilson's own collection, "Monday Without You" is a bona fide hit and "Not Your Average Girl" beautifully shows the unique vocal style they have crafted together.
Time to hear for yourself.
